I am asking for your help in collecting new warm winter socks and gently used or new warm winter gloves for men and women. There are hundreds of homeless people in Oklahoma City. My daughter goes into the city each week and sees them. It's heart breaking. The shelters are usually full and many men will sleep on the streets to allow women and children to sleep at the shelters. Socks and gloves are most needed this time of year. My daughter is collecting gift cards for McDonald's, Wendy's, Taco Bell etc to be distributed to them. If you can donate a gift card, or gloves and socks, I will take care of mailing them to them.
Over the next two weeks help me if you can to collect as many pairs of socks as possible. Big Lots has Fruit of Loom men's socks 6 pairs for $5. The larger size for shoe size 6 to 12 would be best. For women, and thick warm socks in assorted sizes. My goal is to accommodate those that are staying on the streets to give up space in the shelters for the women with young children. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
